Jordan's Madrasati Initiative

Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan recently launched a new initiative to "bring together public, private and nonprofit partners in an exciting, new grassroots initiative to renovate public schools in urgent need of repair." The initiative is expected to directly benefit163,000 students and upgrade at least 500 of the Kingdom's public schools.

Launching the initiative last month, Queen Rania said, "Today our schools have become a social responsibility. It is the responsibility of every active citizen and every organization working to improve the standard of living in Jordan, and every company- private or public- that wants a hand shaping the future of our youth."

That sounds like a great initiative, I hope it works out! There was a speech I saw recently about a clever public school tutoring initiative which might be applicable but I can't seem to remember it right now. Will get back to you.

Brad,

Are you talking about the Dave Eggers speech at Ted?

Yes! Exactly, thanks. It's a great speech and a great initiative to provide 1 on 1 tutoring for students.
