01. My readings on different Alternative Energy (AE) Options has been much focussed upon generating Power - "clean" and "cheap" as in the case of BioGas Technology wherever BioWaste is plentiful. In a meeting yesterday with a Filipino Engineer, I heard him animatedly talked about ECEs as producing Power from WasteHeat Capture Methodologies.
02. Would WasteHeat-fed External Combustion Engines (ECE) indeed make a better option (quieter & cheaper) than BioGas-fed Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Gensets - in the overall system design of a BioGas CHP Plant continuously operating 24x7 weekly and producing 10,000 kwh/month additionally?
Very interesting innovation by applying 'heat capture'. The principle of 'heat capture' is something else that I've been toying around since my undergrad days yet. It's refreshing to note that practical design innovations regarding the principle are now coming out in the open... The challenge that was posed to me then--from within me--was the albedo itself: how to capture the albedo. This heat is a humungous quantity of free energy, and it excites me to gather info about those who can do R&D on it. I myself am more into 'social engineering' and economics systems designs, so my support for energy technologies would be more on the organizational-economic sides of the equation.
02. FYI, I am soon to incorporate "AlterPower GreEnergy Philippines Inc (AGPI)" purposely to promote Fuel Conversion Projects among select Philippine Industrial Plants veering them away from "dirty & costly" Fossil Fuel to "clean & cheap" Alternative Energy - i.e. BioGas Technology. In pursuit of clean cheap AE Technologies, I am getting together Foreign & Filipino Experts to collaborate on my 2 actual Case Studies - a PaperMill needing 7MW and a Steel Fabrication-Galvanizing Plant needing 1.5 MW. Both urgently needing to cut down their CHP costs. Considering that Fuel Conversion Projects, promoting "green" Energy, do qualify for Environmental Incentives (Carbon Credits), a USA-based Firm has expressed interest to provide Project Funding - and has asked for a Conference Call with me at the earliest opportunity. Before doing so however, I prefer to formalize my envisioned AGPI - ahead of my upcoming Conference Call. In this regard, I look forward to meeting with you ASAP - perchance your contribution to the "Organizational & Economic sides of the equation" might be timely.

You may want to check out Doxford Group Ltd who produce an ICE massive 2 stroke which runs on anything including vegetable oil, LNG, Biogass etc etc and uses the CHPC element through a very interesting and novel intercooler and AWG to produce volume potable water by product. 10MWe will require 23000 tonnes of oil per annum and will produce over 100,000 tonnes of potable water per annum so significant farm economic stimulation thrown in for good measure.....
