What would you most like to get out of this network, for example in terms of learning or support?
I'm really here networking and trying to find like minded people and projects that not only encompass corperate responsability and sustainable development but also take into account the needs of people with disabilities.
What is your current job and/or what field are you studying?
Director - AccessibleBarcelona & AccessibleNicaragua - Inclusive Tourism for PwD's
What knowledge, skills and experience do you have that you would be happy for people to contact you over?
Anything to do with travel for people with disabilities, be it about specific advice for a particular client or associate, or more general such as making facilities more inclusive. My particular areas of expertise are Europe and Central America.
What else would you like to say about yourself?
After establishing www.accessiblebarcelona.com four years ago I have now moved to Nicaragua in order to establish routes for people with disabilities in Central America. The trips are not designed to be 100% inclusive for all people with disabilities as this is impossible given the current facilities in the area. They are, however, designed to be as inclusive as possible for as many people as possible.
Through establishing links and beginning work with whl.travel we are creating a project to help their franchise holders to establish facilities for people with disabilities in more than 50 countries across the world.
Dear Craig, you're fantastic. I just read your reactons to my questions. Now I have to keep things short. In a short while I will try to react on your comments. Thank you, you give me Power !!!
Hallo Graig, how are you? I hope you're fine. I'm o.k. I want to ask you something. I'm trying to arrange one or more all inclusive tours. But my WHL-destination in southwest Turkey is very mountainous. And along parts of the routes are steep mountainsides. I can organize things in the city of Marmaris: hotels and maybe appropriate transportation. Ofcourse I can organize a fantastic boat tour along the coast and into marvellous coves.
But what about a tour over rolling land? Can you give me some ideas? Furthermore I'm thinking still too much that the all inclusive tours concerns people in wheelchairs, but I can figure out more catagories, like people with protheses, or people with all types of mental diseases. What's your comment on that?
Craig- Thanks for your sugestions regarding marketing my Fair Trade website. The e-mail flier is something that hadn't occured to me before but I have already looked into using Adobe to create one. I do have a blog, you can check it out here: http://birthofafairtradebusiness.blogspot.com. However for a variety of reasons, I haven't posted recently. I plan to post and update tonight.
Best of luck with your initiative, please let me know if I can be of any help.
Hey Craig,
Yes welcome to the team! We are all quite excited about working together. On a personal note, my brother has Spina Bifida (who also does some work with WHL), so making a difference in access for disabled travellers around the world (especially in the developing world)is something that I hope, as Len has mentioned, will be a win-win-win.
Talk soon!
Shaun.
