Welcome to Development Crossing. I, too, responded to an invitation and have found much interesting and relevant information on these pages. Are there brochures or other literature on CATIE? I'm sure I've heard of it, but my aging memory cannot connect it with information. I am going to post
\\\some photos here showing poverty and infrastructure problems in Costa Rica along with some showing potential solutions. I would appreciate your feedback. More photos later. I'm having some computer (Internet infrastructure) problems now.
Thank you.

PS I'm old and partially incapacitated, but I can still do a lot on my good days and would like to help in any way I can. My Masters is in Gerontology, but that doesn't really show that much of my work was with the social and economic aspects of aging. My hobbies included ecology and entomology and most recently I've become a photo fanatic and a great booster of bamboo as an alternative material for building, paper, and clothing fiber.

Thank you for the invitation. I found it very interesting and that is the reason that I accepted it. I am doing great in CATIE. There are a lot of fascinating initiatives running simultaneously, and I have a lot of work to do. I have to distribute the time in around 40% as Deputy Director General in cha4rge of educcatiopn and 60% as Director of the >Latinamerican Chair of Forest Landscape Management. I am just coming back from Canada, where I attended the model Forests Global Forum , and I was elected as President of the Iberoamerican Model Forests Network.
Don Ronnie,
I am happy to see you joined. I've been using this site to network for sustainable development. The groups are really interesting. How is you new position going?
Sincerely,
Paul
